Updates/Sorry for the Disappearance

Well, there are numerous reasons that the blog hasn't been updated in an unacceptably long time, but the main one is that I have officially moved to sunny Miami Beach!  I've been busy moving and acclimating and attending numerous tortuous orientations, and I start graduate school as a Creative Writing MFA student on Monday.  So there's that whole deal.

Another situation is the unfortunate illness and possible demise of my laptop.  I'd been in Miami two days when the damn thing decided not to start, and in an effort to save money I took it to the university IT shop for a diagnostic and repair.  Needless to say, it's been almost a week and they still haven't really figured out what's wrong or how to fix it.  Best case scenario: it needs a new hard drive and maybe a new battery.  Worst case scenario: I need a new computer.  Either way, this sucks, and it will surely have an impact on my posting in the near future.  

Otherwise, the move has gone very well and I live in beautiful Normandy Isle near Miami Beach with a really cool roommate (a Coast Guard sailor) and a promising school situation.  I'll try my best to get more on here in the coming weeks, but this is a major transition time, so bear with me.
